The Origins Of Let’s Make Wine
NEW BEGINNINGS
Craft Wine & Beer
In 2002, Norm and Cheryl founded Let’s Make Wine here in Yorkton. Over the years the business became the local leaders in all things craft wine and brewing supplies. In 2016 Aaron and Carrie Kienle purchased the business. In 2019 they moved the business from the Linden Square Mall to Yorkton’s downtown. After renovations to the historic Hitching Post building at 17 Betts they expanded their product offering to include Saskatchewan made food products as well expending the pet food and accessory selection of the store.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
We don’t announce prices because they are subject to change so frequently, also it is so helpful if we’re able to explain pricing based on different levels of quality. However, so you have something to work with, a batch of wine runs from $65-$230 and beer is typically $55 unless it’s a limited edition. If you want in-store winemaking it’s $55 and beer brewing it’s $30. Depending on what you need, we also sell bottles, labels, shrinks, and more. We figure our craft wine and beer works out to be about 1/3 the price of the equivalent product you will find at the liquor store!
How many bottles are in a batch of wine or beer?
There are 28-30 bottles in a wine batch. A batch of beer makes the equivalent of about 65 regular beer bottles.
Do I have to make an appointment to start a wine?
No, you do not. It doesn’t take long at all and we do our best to help you find the wine you’ll like the most. We get everything set-up, you’ll purchase the batch and sign an agreement, then sprinkle the yeast and we’re off!
How long does it take to make wine?
4-8 weeks depending on the batch and quality. Fruit wine and entry level wines take around 4 weeks, while some top-end and limited edition wines take 8 weeks! There is also an amazing selection of fine wines at the 5 and 6 week time-frame.
Do I have to age the wine after bottling?
Yes we recommend 3+ months of aging. However fruit wines and some lighter body wines are ready almost immediately after bottling so ask this question in store when you have selected your wine.
Can I make my wine or beer at home?
Yes, you can find any of the tools needed for home brewing for sale in our store.
